The Laundry Depot uses a cleaning method that is superior to steam cleaning or dry chemical cleaning that can leave a muddy residue on your rugs. We will clean your rugs and have them back to you within 7 – 10 days. Size is no object. We have the capabilities to handle even the largest area rugs. The first thing that we do is to measure and examine your area rug. We then put it through our Beater/Duster to eliminate loose soil, dust, and other particles that may contain bacteria. We then soak your rug in fresh tepid water with a mild PH balanced detergent and gently brush it. We do not use recycled water and we process your rug by hand. After washing, your area rug is rinsed using approximately 2000 gallons of fresh water per hour to eliminate soap residue, dirt and soil. This will help to reduce allergy symptoms. The water is then squeezed out of your rug by two massive ringers at 140 PSI and then carefully inspected. If the results don’t meet The Laundry Depot’s very high standards, we will repeat the process at no extra cost to you. Once we are satisfied with the results of the cleaning process, your rug will be sent to the drying tower, which is a temperature and humidity controlled environment, ensuring that it will dry quickly and not risk mold or mildew. We will then hang your rug from one end in order to retain its original shape.

We would like to offer you some advice on how to keep your rugs looking their best. Vacuuming is the easiest way to keep your rugs dirt and soil free. If you have handmade area rugs, vacuum with suction only. The beater bar may be too harsh and cause damage to your rug. If your rugs are in a high traffic area or if there are small children or pets in your home, they will require more frequent vacuuming. Always use a professional rug cleaning service for stain removal. You may damage your rugs if you attempt this on your own at home. Spills should be dealt with immediately so that they don’t become permanent stains. Sweeping is an excellent method of dealing with dry spills. You may remove any solids with a spoon or a blunt knife. Blot, never rub wet spills with a paper towel. Never walk on a moist area of the rug as this may distort the pile.
